Where Can I Buy BBEdit?
----- --- - --- ------
BBEdit is available directly from us, and is also stocked by the
following resellers:

    Cyberian Outpost
    Apple Developer Catalog
    Developer Depot
    Full Moon Software (recommended for customers in the UK)

Other resellers may also carry BBEdit on a regular basis, or be able to
obtain it upon request.  Please note that all pricing and ordering
information given here applies to orders placed directly with us. Should
you require information from a particular reseller, we suggest that you
contact them directly.  At the present time, version upgrades or discount
pricing options, including student discounts, are only available via
orders placed directly with us, or with Cyberian Outpost.

If you would like to place an order via the Web, we invite you to either

They are authorized by us to offer competitive and student discounts on
BBEdit, and they feature a secure Web-based ordering system.


Product Distribution Format [IMPORTANT]
------- ------------ ------
BBEdit is delivered on CD-ROM with online documentation (in Adobe
Acrobat Reader format).  A floppy disk/printed manual set is available
at nominal cost for customers who do not have access to a CD-ROM drive.

Please note that BBEdit is not currently available via any on-line
distribution systems. This is due to resource constraints resulting from
network capacity limitations and the distribution package size, as well
as the restriction of current technology as related to transaction
verification. As network capacity expands and suitable product delivery
mechanisms become available, we will take advantage of these to extend
our means of delivering products and simplify the ordering process.

Upgrade Offer Eligibility

Please check the following list to determine whether you are eligible
for an upgrade price. If not, you must order using the Individual Copy
pricing given below. Also, please note that you should fax or mail in
copies of any items such as purchase receipts which we require for
verification; we *cannot* accept forms which have been scanned and
transmitted via email.


Apple Internet Server Solution Customers:
    If you purchased your Apple Internet Server Solution package on or
    after 04/01/96, then you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to
    BBEdit 4.0.

    If you obtained your Apple Internet Server Solution prior to
    04/01/96, or if you received the free upgrade to BBEdit 3.5, then
    you are eligible to purchase the version upgrade. For either case,
    please send a copy of your purchase invoice as proof of eligibility.
    Offer limited to one upgrade copy per server.


BBEdit 2.5, 3.0, 3.1, and 3.5 Customers:
    If you purchased BBEdit 3.5 on or after 04/01/96, then you are
    eligible to receive a free upgrade to BBEdit 4.0.  Registered
    customers who qualify will receive this upgrade automatically
    (upgrades will be sent out starting 06/01/96).

    If you bought BBEdit 3.5 prior to 04/01/96, or if you own BBEdit
    2.5, 3.0, or 3.1, then you are eligible to purchase the version
    upgrade. Please provide a copy of your purchase receipt, or if you
    are a registered customer, give your invoice number and/or customer
    number. If you have not yet registered, please include your reg
    card, or a copy of your purchase invoice, as proof of eligibility.

BBEdit Lite Users:

Ordering and Payment Information

    * Payment Method:
        Payment in the appropriate amount must be made via check, bank
        draft, or money order, or via an accepted credit card.

        We regret that we cannot accept wire transfers or other payment
        methods from non-U.S. banks. Please also note that we cannot ship
        or process COD orders, or provide pro-forma invoices; your order
        must be accompanied by prepayment, or a valid purchase order

Demo Version Availability

A demo version of BBEdit 4.0 is available on the Internet for
anonymous FTP from ftp.barebones.com, in /pub/demos; the demo can
also be found on any of the Info-Mac mirrors in the /info-mac/text
area. On CIS, look for BBEDIT.DMO in various forum libraries,
including MACDEV, SYMDEV, and ZMC:DOWNTECH, or use the File Finder
